The future of sports betting pt.2
The future of sports betting hinges on demographic changes, the rise of esports, and cryptocurrency adoption.
Let’s see how a blockchain casino established its sportsbook and compare it to the most well-known European and US sportsbook companies. When comparing sportsbooks, players are mostly and most importantly interested in the offer, margins, usability, stake limits, and so on. However, preferences for a sportsbook are also very individual. Some customers are only interested in top-tier divisions like Bundesliga, Premier League, Champions League, or La Liga when it comes to soccer. US bettors will lean toward one of the big 4 sports in the US, mainly just the top tier of those sports: Basketball (NBA), Baseball (MLB), American Football (NFL), and Ice Hockey (NHL). However, some will look for anything that is currently live, regardless of whether the sportsbook is offering electronic games or just some low-tier volleyball match from Asia or Latin America.
The general display is a bit more energetic than in typical sportsbook companies. You can feel the touch of modern blockchain company design.
This kind of display is visually very appealing and offers a futuristic design, but as a sportsbook bettor, I prefer a slightly cleaner design. By that, I mean an easier overview, perhaps more of a listing view than individual game overviews. A very cool feature that is implemented is the conversion of odds to the percentage possibility of a team winning the event. As displayed in the image above, you can see that Arsenal's chances of winning are 66%.

The live page, in our opinion, is very simple to understand, perhaps a little too simple. On In-Play pages, like Fairspins, there are a lot of games displayed. However, in our personal opinion, a listing overview is always better to see more matches and odds simultaneously. It's a decently set page, but let's review it in detail.
The number of live matches is impressive. There is almost never a time when there aren’t enough matches, or even more, than what bet365 offers. What is most impressive are the early mornings during weekdays when other bookies struggle to offer a decent selection. Fairspin provides a much wider variety of sports and events.
Even on a wednesday morning you will have a nice offer and variety of sports offered:
Rating 10/10
While many bookmakers focus on the biggest events and offer a good range of markets for the most popular sports and events, they often lack variety in the leagues offered. As previously mentioned, Fairspin offers a significantly respectable number of matches available in play at any given time. This also means that numerous sports and various leagues are offered.
Rating 10/10
When it comes to the number of markets offered in play, we can say that they meet the standards like any other reputable European bookmaker. The only objection is the incorrect count of markets labeled as 'more bets'.
You can see the wrong number of bets displayed compared to the actual number of markets offered. But that is something very common to see with other bookies as well. That has something to do with the market provider and their possible number of bets which can be offered and the bookies are not filtering this number out well for some reason.
For the top-tier leagues, the variety of different markets is extensive, making it very competitive compared to other major bookmaker websites.
Rating 9/10
One slightly confusing aspect of the in-play offer is the widget icons displayed on the right-hand side of the match, which we would expect to be something like a stats tracker and an animation of the football field with various data displayed on it.
When entering the match details, we can see a scoreboard, and a noteworthy feature we mentioned earlier is the percentage possibility circle around the teams icons.
The tracker section is empty, even though it is displayed for the majority of the matches. That would be a nice addition if it were functional. When it comes to live streams, you will find a lot of streams, even for the lowest tier leagues possible.
Rating 9/10
The odds are typically set within a standard margin range compared to other bookies. You'll find the main markets ranging from an 8-12% margin for lower-tier leagues and sports or events, and lower margins of 4-8% for higher-tier leagues or events. While not offering the most attractive margin range, they do follow the market range, which is overall a solid performance.
Maybe there is a little bit of space for improvement in the odds margins to become more attractive to the customers.
Rating 8/10
As live betting or in-play betting now covers more than 80% of all bets placed, we have reviewed the in-play options in more depth. However, we will also mention the pre-match offer. It boasts a vast selection, encompassing all possible and necessary sports. Additionally, outrights are provided, which is a valuable addition, as some bookies lack this feature.
The odds margins are very fair, often even lower than bet365's in many cases, which we would rate a 9 out of 10.
Prematch rating 9/10
Overall, Fairspin offers a really good sportsbook experience. We would definitely recommend using Fairspin's sportsbook, as it appears to have one of the biggest offerings on the market and provides above-average odds.
Sportsbook total rating 9.1/10
