United finally ready to sell Jesse Lingard

It seems like the days are number for Jesse Lingard at Manchester United. Some fans would say it's been long overdue but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided that he doesn't need the Red Devils academy man anymore. The feeling is mutual as Lingard wants to play a major role in a club, which isn't possible anymore at Old Trafford.

With the arrival of Bruno Fernandes Lingard has been reduced to a covering, back-up role in United's team. His is so much set on going that he hired one of the most well-known football agents in the world Mino Raiola.

It's not just the arrival of Fernandes that put Lingard behind in the pecking order, it's also the loan of Odion Ighalo. The striker surpassed the low expectations of him in the several games he played since arriving and Solskjaer now has more options in the final third.

United is planning to sell Lingard in order to further boost the improvement of the squad, which now just needs about three reinforcements to look like a solidified top four side. Transfermarkt sees Lingard's value at €22,000,000 but it would be highly unlikely if the midfielder moves for more money.

Lingard played in more than 200 matches for United but his end product always lacked. In 35 games this season he scored only two goals whilst playing pretty offensively. Recently, a video of some Man Utd fans verbally berating Lingard while he was entering a team bus went viral.

With Jadon Sancho, James Maddison, and Jack Grealish all on United's radar, Lingard has been finally regarded as obsolete. Being 27 years old, Raiola will have to truly work his magic in order to find a proper place for the player who reportedly believes he's one of the top number 10s in the world.
