The new Ajax is still scary: Record-breaking historic win in the Eredivisie with 13 goals scored!

Even though the squad sold half or even 75% of its memorable Champions League team, Ajax is still bossing the Dutch league. In the sixth matchday, Ajax absolutely trashed VVV-Venlo away 13:0 (4:0) and set the record for the new biggest win in the Eredivisie.

Ajax has hence gathered up a 24:3 goal difference after just six games played although with one loss PSV can leap over them if they win their Sunday match.

Venlo looked helpless at times as in proper Ajax fashion, the Amsterdam club scored 11 goals with assists. One goal being a penalty and one a solo effort by Lassina Traore, the five-goal hero. Besides him, Jurgen Ekkelenkamp (twice), Dusan Tadic, Antony, Daley Blind, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (twice), and Lisandro Martinez have all gotten on the scoresheet.

Venlo played with 10 players since the 51st minute and their goalkeeper made 10 saves as Ajax had 23 shots on goal, with 45 goal attempts total! The manager Erik ten Haag even managed to rest the two leaders at half-time Nicolas Tagliafico and Dusan Tadic.

"Compliments to the team. They were hungry. A good win. We played at a good pace from the start. I've seen good attacks. VVV-Venlo has shown this competition that they are capable of good results. This result is also up to Ajax. We enforce this. You have to enter the matches with this attitude," said the manager.

The previous Eredivisie and Ajax record was 12:1 against Vitesse all the way back in 1972.

One of the veterans at the club, Daley Blind, commented on the team's desire to score.

"You saw how eager the team was today. After every goal you saw how hungry we were to keep going," said the former Manchester United player.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored his 153rd goal for Ajax which is the most any player has scored since Johan Cruyff did between 1964 and 1983. He is now tied with Ruud Geels and Marco van Basten on the 6th place of Ajax's all-time top scorers' list.

Here's how the score went.

12' Ekkelenkamp 0-1

17' Traore 0-2

45' Tadic 0-4

54' Traore 0-5
