Ronaldo saves Juventus as he scores two penalties in a draw against Atalanta

Cristiano Ronaldo scored two penalties to help Juventus avoid a loss at home against in-form Atalanta.

Atalanta is the most intriguing side across European top leagues with their attacking quality, and the visit of Gian Piero Gasperini's side in Turin was full of high expectations about a good result for the Bergamo team.

However, they couldn't leave northern Italy with full hands as the late penalty broke their dreams about victory over champions.

A clever Alejandro Gomez's pass released Colombian striker Zapata to open the scoring in the 16th minute.

Until the end of the half time, the game was played between the boxes, with Atalanta being a better side in controlling the ball.

The first penalty for Juve was awarded in the 54th minute after Marten de Roon's handball. Ronaldo had no problems converting it to bring back his team into the game.

More oil, more fire, as Atalanta is not a typical Italian side. They attack no matter the result. Therefore, the Bergamo side pushed and finally got what they deserve.

In the 80th minute, Ruslan Malinovsky placed a right footed shot from the center of the box to make it 1-2 for Atalanta and Gasperini men were really close to winning last night.

Anyway, tick to the final whistle, another handball from Atalanta's players brought another penalty and a chance for Juventus to grab a point. Ronaldo was cold once again from 11m to rescue a point for Old Lady.

Atalanta fans are probably disappointed with a full-time result but not with the performance of their team. They can be once again proud of their team.

Six games left until the Serie A finish, Juve leads the race by 8 points advantage to second-placed Lazio while Atalanta have already guaranteed Champions League place, yet, they aim to finish as high as possible on standings.
