RB Leipzig's Forsberg invites a transfer: Things aren't going well

In the 2016/2017 Emil, Forsberg spent 2,349 minutes on the pitch in the Bundesliga scoring eight goals and was one of the most important players for RB Leipzig. His minutes dwindled through years and the 28-year-old spent only 795 minutes playing in the league this season.

The winger is not satisfied with the minutes he is getting under Julian Nagelsman and he clearly proclaimed a 'come and get me' plea to interested parties.

"Things aren't going well. I don't have to prove myself anymore. I have a contract, but everyone knows that I dream of playing in another league," Forsberg, who is under contract until 2022, told Sport Bild.

Earlier in the season, while his mind wasn't already set on leaving, Forsberg revealed what are his preferred destinations.

"I have a big connection with the club, and we have a good cooperation. But like any player, I dream of playing somewhere else at some point. I've always been attracted by Spain and Italy," said the former Malmo man.

German media states that the 28-year-old would be available for €20,000,000 and seeing how cheap RB Leizpig sold Diego Demme this season, that seems likely. Even though he prefers La Liga and Serie A, English sides are linked to Forsberg, most notably Everton and Tottenham. But Arsenal, Manchester United, and Leicester are all being mentioned. With Forsberg’s attributes, he does seem to fit at Premier League the best.

"I could see myself playing anywhere; not to brag, but I feel I have the qualities," the Swedish international told The Guardian earlier this month.

Forsberg's wife even recently hinted at criticism of RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann on Instagram. But the player has announced his support of the manager and believes he is the right man for the job. Either way, he is almost certainly out of Leipzig in the summer.
