PSG lift another treble after beating Lyon in League Cup final

Paris St-Germain won over Lyon after penalties in the French League Cup final to celebrate a fourth domestic treble in the previous six years.

Without their keyman Kylian Mbape, the job was harder but the Thomas Tuchel's team found out the way to lift Cup trophy. Second in the last seven days as PSG clinched France Cup last weekend.

It was the last edition of the League Cup final as a decision is already made in September last year to cancel the tournament. This tournament will no longer exist.

However, the last match in the history of the France League Cup had little in the way of real thriller, and penalties decided.

Following the fantastic goalscoring series in penalty lottery - 10 of 10! - Keylor Navas saved the Bertrand Traore's shot before Pablo Sarabia scored the winning kick for PSG.

About 5,000 fans saw the game from the crowd and the overall expression is - we want football back with full stands. As soon as possible.

Lyon are now in problems as they will face the first season of missing a European competition if they fail to win in the Champions League next Friday.

PSG won 25 of the last 36 France trophies, meets Atalanta in the quarter-finals on Wednesday, August 12.

Next season of Ligue 1 begins on August 23, on the same day of Champions League finals.
