Perfect for Mourinho? Tottenham favourites to sign versatile RB Leipzig player

Tottenham had a brilliant transfer window, second best after Chelsea on our books, yet the club's recruitment team isn't sleeping on its laurels. The next target has been determined - Marcel Sabitzer of RB Leipzig, and probably no man would enjoy having him at Spurs than Jose Mourinho.

Sabitzer is a perfect example of a player Mourinho loves - hardworking, humble, versatile, disciplined, physical. Aged 26, the Austrian star is entering his prime and has been chosen as the club captain for the 2020/2021 season! Add the leader to the list of Sabitzer's qualities that Mourinho absolutely loves.

Arriving at Leipzig when the club was still in the second German division, there is literally almost no position at which Sabitzer didn't play for the team.

In the 194 games the Austrian has played for Red Bull's German team, he scored 45 goals, made 36 assists, and received 32 yellow cards, just to illustrate his defensive contributions as well. He also made 44 appearances for Austria, scoring eight times.

The best thing for Spurs fans is that the transfer of this club captain wouldn't be that expensive with his contract expiring in 2022. A fee of around €30,000,000 would be enough for the Austrian to leave the Bundesliga after six years at his current club.

Obviously, Tottenham's president Daniel Levy is awake to the opportunity of this season with Man City underperforming and Liverpool getting decimated by injuries. An opportunity to pounce on the title is wide open.

During the last days of the transfer window Spurs were still trying to get Milan Skriniar for €35,000,000 eventually getting Joe Rodon for €12,000,000 so there's almost enough money in reserve. With Dele Alli possibly leaving the club, there can be additional funds made for Levy to get Sabitzer as he is entering his prime.
