Monchi secured Premier League wingers for Sevilla: Martial leaves United after almost seven years

Anthony Martial will finally leave Manchester United after staying at Old Trafford for six and a half years, although it somewhat feels it was yesterday when he scored on his debut. Yet, no other moment in his Red Devils career came close to that moment of pure hope for the Theatre of Dreams faithful.

Still, he played 269 games for United and his return isn't bad at all with 79 goals and 50 assists. Yet, most of the goal involvements came under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, 60 of them. While Ralf Rangnick gave him only one game to play in, eight minutes.

Naturally, Martial was looking to leave and even his agent publicly spoke about his desire to do so, at the right time. Then, Sevilla seemed like the most concrete option and its sporting director Monchi managed another win.

After getting Erik Lamela in the summer, Julen Lopetegui will have another Premier League veteran on the other wing. Martial will play for Sevilla in the rest of the season on loan from United.

The Andalusian club will pay his wages in entirety, yet they can still be more than satisfied with getting their man. After all, Barcelona and Juventus both were interested in Martial. Yet the player was sick and tired of getting used as a substitute and thought that he would get the most playing time at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
