Milan signs half-Pirlo half-Gattuso youngster

Compared continually to Andrea Pirlo while idolizing and moulding himself to Genarro Gattuso, Sandro Tonali will now wear the shirt that skyrocketed the two as he signed for Milan. But the black and red shirt was a part of his dreams separately from the two Italian football legends, as he was a fan of Rosonerri since he was a kid.

Comparisons with Pirlo come due to the both of them starting in the same club, Brescia and also because of the physical resemblance. But the 20-year-old always thought he had more similar with Rhino Gattuso and will even wear his number eight shirt at San Siro during the five years he'll be there.

He arrives from Brescia on loan with an option to buy though. The loan itself cost Milan €10,000,000 while the optional move will be initiated with €15,000,000, a 10% of any future sale, and another €10,000,000 in add-ons. A very good deal for one of Italy's biggest talents.

Ivan Gazidis, CEO of AC Milan, spoke about the capture that is most likely the best piece of business done by the club.

"We are delighted to welcome Sandro Tonali to AC Milan. He is one of the most promising young talents in international football. Sandro has a love for the Club and an understanding of its values that will add to what we want to build together. Welcome Sandro!" said Gazidis.

The statement of the player himself reminds us how this game can be beautiful even with millions being thrown around by corporations.

"I'm happy, when I wear this shirt the dream will come true. I can't wait to get started and I hope this enthusiasm will continue in the next few days. Like in fairy tales," said the youngster.

Tonali played only one full Serie A season so far, recording seven asssits and a goal, but he already earned three Italy caps.

Milan secured the signature of Zlatan Ibrahimovic this window, got Brahim Diaz on loan from Real Madrid, purchased 21-year-old winger Alexis Saelemaekers, as well as veteran centre-back Simon Kjaer. With Tonali added to the bunch, anything less than a Champions League spot is unacceptable.
