Liverpool's backline decimated, now even TAA is injured!

After suffering through a devastating injury of their key defensive man Virgil van Dijk, losing the makeshift alternative Fabinho, while the centre-back Joel Matip is still not fit, Liverpool has also lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to injury.

The right-back had to leave the biggest derby of the season against Manchester City in the 63rd minute because of a calf injury.

At first, it wasn't known exactly how long would the defender be out for, besides not being available to Gareth Southgate for the upcoming international break. But now it has been reported that the creative full-back will miss out on four weeks of football at the very least.

Liverpool fans can look at the international break as a silver lining as the 22-year-old will not miss out on full four weeks of playing for the club. He is still not to be available for six LFC matches at the very least. Leicester in the Premier League, Atalanta in the Champions League, Brighton, Ajax (CL), Wolverhampton, and Midtjylland (CL).

With the games against Fulham and Tottenham scheduled for the 12th and the 16th December being suspect, especially the first one.

TAA was substituted by James Milner in the City derby, and this injury reveals yet another place where the club has inadequate depth. As Nathaniel Clyne left the club on a free in the summer while Joe Gomez will need to play at the centre-back position. Neco Williams, a 19-year-old Welshman is a natural right-back and has already played 247 minutes of football this season for the Reds, but none of them in the PL.

Liverpool is also battling the injuries of a newcomer Thiago Alcantara, whose return is soon expected, during the international break. But also, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is injured, as per usual and the return date for the 27-year-old Englishman is unknown as of now.
