Liverpool set to make a €60,000,000 signing this winter

Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and Mohamed Salah have been the most recognizable attacking trio in Europe for some years now. Yet they will all be 30 this summer and going into the last year of their contracts, if nothing happens in negotiations until then. While 30, with previous wear and tear, might be too much for Jurgen Klopp's style of football.

Hence, LFC are on the verge of signing a potential star of tomorrow as they agreed on a transfer of Luis Diaz with Porto! The right-footed left winger, who can play on the other side as well, will be the third biggest purchase this winter at €60,000,000, after Dusan Vlahovic and Ferran Torres.

The deal itself will be split into the main sum of €45,000,000 and €15,000,000 that will be dependent on Diaz meeting certain conditions on the pitch.

The Reds still managed to get a good deal considering Porto stated it was holding out for the release clause of €80,000,000. Also, the recruitment team from Anfield secured the deal in front of Tottenham who was also keen on the 25-year-old.

An international for Colombia, Diaz was joint top goalscorer at last year’s Copa America, alongside Lionel Messi with four goals scored. He played in 31 games for his country, scoring seven goals.

He is in great form this season on the club level where he scored 14 league goals in 18 games for Porto, with five assists. In 28 overall games this season for Porto, Diaz has bagged 22 goal involvements, 16 direct goals and six assists.

Diaz's overall record for Porto stands at 125 games played, 41 goals scored with 19 assists. Prior to his campaign in Europe, he played for Atletico Junior and Barranquilla in his home country.
