Juve beat Inter to a €45,000,000 signing!

We had big-name signings for the January transfer window in Erling Haaland's move to Borussia Dortmund and Zlatan Ibrahimovic's trip back to Milan, now we have a surprising big-money move. Italian media are firmly reporting that Juventus completed the deal for Atalanta's Dejan Kulusevski.

The winger, on-loan at Parma, will cost the Turn club €35,000,000 plus another €10,000,000 in bonuses. All that is left to happen is the medical exam and to be officially presented by the Old Lady. That is expected to happen on 2nd or 3rd January.

Atalanta paid the winger €100,000 back in 2016.

Juve managed to beat the biggest title-rivals Inter in signing the young Swedish international, who is still a teenager at 19-years-old. Antonio Conte was set on getting Kulusevski, but reports from Italy are stating that Kulusevski picked Juve as he feels they suit him more tactically. Dejan didn't like the idea of playing in Conte's 3-5-2 where he would be a wing-back of sorts.

Juve agreed that the 19-year-old will stay at Parma on loan for the remainder of the season.

Chief football officer of Juventus Fabio Paratici conducted the negotiations for the Old Lady and beat Inter who was negotiating with Kulusevski far longer. Nerazurri met with the player's representatives multiple times but failed to reach an economic agreement. Juve obliged to give the versatile player €2,500,000 per season, and the contract is to last five seasons.

Of North Macedonian descent, Kulusevski came up in Brommapojkarna, before moving to Atalanta in 2016. He played three Serie A games for the Bergamo club, but made an impression on-loan at Parma where he scored four goals in 17 matches.

Kulusevski made five U17 appearances for North Macedonia, before switching to Sweden and playing in 37 games for various youth selections. He made his A team debut for Sweden this November.
