Former Bayern manager Kovac opens fire on the way transfers are done at Bayern: The coach is not involved

Bayern Munich is still going strong on the sporting department but they don't look as formidable as they used to. The main reason is the spat between the manager Hans-Dieter Flick and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. As the German is not satisfied with the reinforcements he got, openly saying he had a better squad last year, with many expecting his departure from the club.

Now the former manager of the Bavarians, Niko Kovac, is openly criticizing the way things are being done at the Allianz Arena. He is finding success at Monaco, same as he did before the Bayern job at Eintracht Frankfurt, while he failed in Bavaria.

He explained how things are done with Monaco, which is back to the top three after being 17th in the 2018/2019, and ninth the past year. In France, he is working with the praised English scout turned sporting director Paul Mitchell.

"The squad planning here and the planning for the new season is very close between Paul Mitchell, our scouting department and me. We talk through everything, talk to new entrants or potential new players together. I think that's something that every club needs, and that's what made me sign up here," started Kovac for SportBild.

He then explained how in Germany's top club, everything is decided by the sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

"We all know how it works in Munich: It's exactly the opposite there. The situation that I find in Monaco is the same as it was back then in Frankfurt - and that's exactly what you want as a coach. You want to be involved in the squad planning and be involved."

Kovac didn't get his transfer wishes before the start of the season in which he got sacked - Timo Werner, Ante Rebic, or Kevin Vogt. Flick also wanted Werner, most likely to use him with Robert Lewandowski, on the left-wing. While the popular Brazzo didn't hide his bad opinion of Werner. But the Croatian showed his class when saying there should be no questions regarding the future of the man who replaced him. Suggesting that Bayern should give Flick the priority over Salihamidzic.

"Personally, I cannot understand why there are such debates about Hansi Flick despite these successes."
