Emre Can signs permanently with Borussia Dortmund

When Emre Can escaped Juventus and Maurizio Sarri this winter and joined Borussia Dortmund the Italian side publically stated that there is an obligation to buy in his loan deal. The obligation was to be enforced if certain conditions were met and yet both clubs now officially announced that Can is now officially a BVB player. 18 days after arriving on loan.

The conditions must have been really low as Emre only played in three matches for the black and yellows, scoring once. Yet, few are complaining about the deal.

Juve will get the €1,000,0000 for the six-month loan and then €24,000,0000 over three financial years. As stated officially by the Italian club. Borussia got a domestic player who is familiar with the league, has vast international experience, is hungry to prove himself again, and already bought the fans with a debut screamer he scored.

On July 1st, Can is to sign a contract until 2024 with the club from Westfalen and alongside Erling Haaland can be a pillar of the new BVB that has been built since the summer. As a central midfielder, Can will compete for the place in the team with Axel Witsel, Thomas Delaney, and Mahmoud Dahoud.

Former Liverpool player Can started only two league games for Serie A side Juventus since Maurizio Sarri took charge last season. He was pretty standard in Turin following his move from Anfield as a free agent back in 2018. But issues came this season as Sarri didn't include the 26-year-old in the Champions League squad.

Can has played 25 times for Germany and has a goal to represent the country at the upcoming pan-continental European Championship. A move was needed to secure that and after Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, Can is representing another great German team.
