Calm down, Roman! Chelsea likely to get Mendy and Rice this window too!

Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, and Malang Sarr. But Chelsea are not done! Two major signings are possible for Roman Abramovich's side until the window closes on 5th of October.

For the first time possibly ever, transfer reports regarding a single club's transfer doings are starting to look less like rumours, more like science-fiction. But the scary thing is that they are coming from highly reputable sources. Scary if you're other clubs in the Premier League, that is.

While the news of Chelsea's search for a goalkeeper have been flowing around for some time as Willy Caballero is 39 and the only substitute to Kepa. More importantly, he's the only competition for the so-far disappointing Chelsea record signing. After realizing that Gianluigi Donnarumma isn't doable, the Blues turned to France and Renne's Edouard Mendy.

The 28-year-old kept nine clean sheets in 24 games last season and his club confirmed Chelsea's interest through their president Nicolas Holveck at a press conference.

"Discussions have started with Chelsea for Edouard Mendy. I can understand his desire, he told us. But for the moment, there is no agreement and for a transfer, we need an agreement of the three parties."

Now reports are coming that Marina Granovskaia, Chelsea's director, has agreed on personal terms with the goalie from Senegal and that he would arrive on a five-year deal. Now, Rennes is set to accept an offer and Chelsea are reportedly ready to pay up to €28,000,000 for the keeper who has 63 appearances in Ligue 1.

What's even more shocking is the news that there's a "very good chance" Declan Rice moves to Chelsea this window! These are the words of a long-time Chelsea reporter Simon Johnson, currently working for The Athletic. A publication that has strong sources at Stamford Bridge.

West Ham's midfielder would certainly be the second-biggest signing in terms of fee as the 21-year-old is one of the highest-rated English talents. With nine caps for his country already.

As the situation at West Ham isn’t peachy seeing how several players openly criticized the decision to sell Grady Diangana. Including Rice.

Rice would certainly go for more money than Chilwell, even though WHU are not famed for their salesmanship. But a sum of €77,000,000 is mentioned so far, but could reasonably be a bit lower.

A loan with an obligation to buy seems like the most reasonable move. If not, Chelsea’s spending this window could reach the €328,000,000 mark! Possibly even break the 350 million barrier, depending on which version of the Havertz fee is correct.
