Bayern wants to sell Tolisso in the summer to fund other transfers

Arriving for €41,500,000 from Lyon in 2017, becoming the record arrival of undeniable European giants Bayern Munich, Corentin Tolisso looked destined for greatness. But the 22-year-old is counting his last days at the Allianz Arena as the Bavarians are aiming to sell him in the summer in order to fund their incoming transfers.

Tolisso played an important role for Bayern in his first year following the move from Lyon. In the 2017/2018 he played in 26 Bundesliga matches, starting 17 of them and scoring six times. Last season though, he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and spent only 52 minutes on the pitch in the league. Alongside few other injuries when he came back from the big injury.

This season the France representative only missed 12 days due to not being fit but he still played only 474 minutes of Bundesliga football. He started six matches and came on as a sub in four.

Tolisso's contract runs until 2022 and since he hasn't regained his form following the ACL injury the Bavarians can't expect to profit on his sale. Despite him being only 22.

Yet Bayern has big plans for the summer and after spending €143,000,000 in the summer of 2019 it's evident that the Bavarians are ready to spend big. They nearly doubled their record signing as Lucas Hernandez arrived for €80,000,000 and the German club has the revenue to compete with the biggest teams in Europe.

From Tolisso, they can expect to get €35,000,000 to €40,000,000 tops. That money will be used for getting players like Manchester City's Leroy Sane, Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz, RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano, and Ajax's Sergino Dest. These are the top four targets sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has in front of him.
