Bayern finally got their target as Leroy Sane signs from Man City

Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has returned to Germany Bundesliga in a 60,000,000m euros switch to Bayern Munich.

He joined Manchester City from Schalke back in 2016. During his spell in England, Sane has won two premier league titles, two FA Cups and a league cup.

The deal had been speculated for a while with the 23-years-old winger being rumoured to join Die Roten for a long time.

Having only turned out once in the league for the Cityzens this season after a serious injury in the Community Shield against Liverpool back in August. Bernardo Silva, Riyadh Mahrez, and Raheem Sterling all played ahead of Sane taking advantage of his time away from the pitch.

The winger was a key part of Manchester City’s domestic treble in the 2018/19 season, having bagged 10 goals and setting 10 up, many heads were scratched at why Guardiola seemed to refuse to let Leroy return into the starting line-up.

However, the thing is done and the young player will continue his development in Bundesliga. "I want to win as many trophies as possible with Bayern, and the Champions League is the top priority," Sane said after agreeing on the deal.

He also decided to post on social media a farewell message to Manchester City:  “Thanks so much for the great time and all the support over the last 4 years. "

"It has been a really intense and successful time which I surely won’t forget. We won many games, scored a ton of goals, broke a couple of records and celebrated 7 trophies together. "

"Thanks to all the fans, to the staff and to my team-mates! I will always remember this time with great joy and pride."

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "Our goal is to gather the best German players at FC Bayern and the signing of Leroy emphasises this goal".

Sane is believed to start training with the Munich squad next week, although he will be unable to play for the Bavarian side in the revised Champions League this season.

Sane will be reunited with former Schalke teammate Leon Goretzka who expressed his happiness about the deal. Going as far as to say 'Can’t wait to play with you again, my friend!' on twitter.
