Bayern and Dortmund convincing in the second matchday after the break

Goals from Achraf Hakimi and Raphael Guerreiro helped Borussia Dortmund past Wolfsburg while Bayern's strong attacking performance produced five goals versus Eintracht Frankfurt.

Dortmund's head coach Lucien Favre kept his roster unchanged from the last weekend's win over Schalke.

Dortmund controlled possession and their wingbacks had a magnificent day which produced 2-0 win on the road.

First, Portuguese international Guerreiro gave his team lead after the close-range litter. It's his eighth goal of the season!

English wonderkid Jadon Sancho was once again starting on the bench, following his minor injury. But pacey winger entered in the second half to set up the winning goal, scored by his partner on the right side, Moroccan Hakimi.

With a win and three points Dortmund came just a point behind Bayern on standings, but the champions leaped off just a few hours later following their victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Bavarian giants knew they have to win the game and return on four points distance to BVB. And they responded perfectly, beating bellow-par Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2 at Allianz Arena.

German midfielder Leon Goretzka produced a classy opener after a great team movement, while Thomas Muller added another one in the first 45, to put his team to 2-0 lead on half time.

Less than a minute in the second half, Robert Lewandowski scored a header and many assumed the game is finished.

But it wasn't. The fighting spirit of Eintracht's players brought a bit of excitement in-game.

Defender Martin Hinteregger scored a mishit volley kick while just three minutes later his header from a corner put his team in great momentum.

However, the hopes of visitors for a point were smashed when left wingback Alphonso Davies capitalized a defensive error to make it 4-2.  The final result is set following the own goal of Hinteregger, who scored a hat trick, thus the last goal was in his own net.

Struggling Eintracht have now lost the previous five games in a row and this the second game in the season to concede five goals from Bavarians.

In other matches, Bayer Leverkusen outclassed title candidates Borussia Monchengladbach by beating them 3-1 on the road with two goals of wonderkid Kai Havertz.

Werder Bremen grabbed so needed points versus Freiburg in their relegation fight, while Paderborn couldn't make a better than 1-1 versus Hoffenheim. Hertha trashed Union in Berlin's local derby earlier on Friday.
