Barcelona continue title race with a strong performance at Mallorca

Barcelona maintains on La Liga top after beating Mallorca 4-0 on the road following the La Liga's return.

Spain's Primera is back on TV screens and the football fans all over the world saw a strong Barca's performance with Lionel Messi in great form. 

Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal scored a header after 66 seconds into the game while winter's signing Martin Braithwaite netted his first goal for the club to make it 2-0 at the half time. 

His debuting La Liga goal was excellent, knocking in from Messi's header, and he was only denied a second by a fine save from host's goalkeeper.    

Mallorca had enough ball in their legs for something to create, but they didn't cause too much trouble for Quique Settien and his players.

Good news for Blaugrana fans as Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez is now fit and ready after an injury - he entered from the bench, the first time since January.

A few minutes later following his entrance, Jordi Alba made it three-nil. It was a beardless Messi who freed left-back with a perfect pass to allow Spaniard to have an easy situation in front of the goal. 



The stats are showing magic when it comes to Messi, once again - he has been directly involved in 15 of Barca's 18 league goals under new coach Quique Setien (7 goals, 8 assists).

And just before the final whistle, Argentiinain reached the new milestone - Messi now has at least 20 league goals scored in each La Liga season for a 12th straight season.

In the rest of the La Liga's 28th round, we saw Espanyol's crucial win over Alaves in their relegation fight. Bottom placed Espanyol reacted with amazing performance to win 2-0, creating 19 goal attempts.

Celta Vigo surprised their fans once again with a negative result as they lost 0-1 at home versus Villareal, and it puts them into an uncomfortable situation.

Valladolid made a big step in saving themselves from relegation worries as they won 2-1 over 19th placed Leganes on the road.
