Barca lays 40 million of its chips on a 19-year-old to fill its attacking hole

With the arrival of Xavi to the managerial position, the new Barcelona can officially start under the presidency of Joan Laporta. Yet, the club legend faces a myriad of reasons for headache, considering the Catalans are in a massive injury crisis. The solutions the board picked, as the media from Spain is revealing, are surprising.

Most notably, the fact that Catalan powerhouse MundoDeportivo is strongly stating Barca already launched a €40,000,000 offer for the 19-year-old Karim Adeyemi.

As Sergio Aguero might end his career early due to a heart issue, Martin Braithwaite is also injured and not level of goalscorer needed - the latter applies for Luuk de Jong, Barca are searching for a primary CF.

Dreams of getting Erling Haaland are rare for the Barca supporters who now their club is in a serious financial crisis. So it seems that the recruitment team turned their gaze towards Erling's replacement at his previous club Red Bull Salzburg.

Adeyemi went through Salzburg's feeder team FC Liefering and rejoined the A team in the winter of 2019. When the Norweigan set sails for Borussia Dortmund. Since then, he has scored 25 goals and made 17 assists in 75 games, making the comparisons difficult to say the least.

Even though Adeyemi has a deal with Salzburg until 2024, it's hard to justify such a sum proposed for the man who is only 19. Regardless of his three caps and one goal for Germany's senior national team. Although some reports suggest that Barca has competition in BVB itself who offered €35,000,000 for the 19-year-old.

Simultaneously, Barca is negotiating a much more impressive transfer, that of Ferran Torres from Manchester City. He has given the La Liga side green light to arrange the financials with City, with Pep Guardiola expected to give his blessing for the Spaniard to return to his homeland. The 21-year-old winger moved to Etihad only in the summer of 2020, and had quite a strong goalscoring return, especially considering he was often played out of his natural position of a winger.

The €28,000,000 signing scored 16 goals and made four assists in 43 games for City. Yet he didn't start 12 of them. All in all, Ferran has a goal involvement every 131 minutes for City, all while adjusting to a new league.

Reports also suggest that RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo, a former La Masia product, is also a target for Barca in the long run.
