Aston Villa takes Arsenal's primary target in front of them!

It's the off season but Arsenal is still taking defeats that are going to drive their fans even more mad than the performances of last season. For over a year, the Gunners have been linked with the talented Emiliano Buendia of Norwich. Yet the London club - which tried to form a European Super League this spring - was outbid for the Argentinian by Aston Villa!

The Birmingham club announced that they have reached an agreement with the Canaries over the transfer. As Emiliano is currently in the Argentina national team’s bubble, preparing for a World Cup qualifying match with Colombia on Tuesday night, he will undergo a medical and complete the transfer after the game.

It's reported that Aston Villa paid €38,300,000 for the 24-year-old, making him the biggest purchase of the Birmingham side. So far, it has been last summer's signing Ollie Watkins at €34,000,000.

The Argentinian midfielder was named Championship player of the season which saw Norwich top the competition. In 39 matches, the right winger has scored 15 goals and made 17 assists! In the previous, 2019/2020 season in the Premier League, Buendia scored once and made seven assists. The 2018/2019 season saw him make 20 goal contributions in the second division, scoring eight and assisting 12 goals. He was bought from Getafe for a fee of €1,500,000 who will get €1,200,000 as solidarity payment for the man who started in Real Madrid's youth team.

Buendia will play with the former Arsenal goalkeeper and national teammate Emiliano Martinez on a club as well from now on.

With the right-winger Bertrand Traore having a solid season with seven goals and seven assists in the Premier League, it will be interesting to see where Buendia will fit in an attack. One thing is sure, with Jack Grealish and him both at the club, Villa will be one of the must-see clubs of the upcoming season.
