16-year-old Peruvian talent signs for Manchester City

Manchester City have made a deal on signing the teenager right back Kluiverth Aguilar from Peruvian club Alianza Lima.

The 16-year-old player is a promising defender with offensive characteristics and as he says, his model of playing is Brazilian star Dani Alves.

A young teenager is unable to move to the Etihad before he turns 18 in May 2021.

He made a debut while still at school at the end of the previous year and featured in both legs of the Primera Division final game versus Deportivo Binacional. In his short career, he made a total of nine first-team appearances but it was enough for City scouts to spot the huge talent in the Peruvian land.

"Going to City is something big in my career. I'm happy they have signed me."

"It's a club with players, a coach, and fans that are all extraordinary. My goal is to become an outstanding player in the first team."

"I'm glad that the possibility of moving to Europe presented itself to me while I am an Alianza player," said Aguilar after arranging a deal.

A statement from his homegrown club Alianza, who will only get a percentage of the future sale(s), says: "Within its policy of signing players with great potential, Manchester City saw in Kluiverth Agular a talent capable of playing at the highest level.

"Alianza Lima is proud that a footballer from its team can link his future to that of one of the most prestigious clubs in the world."

The young player could follow the steps of Yangel Herrera, who joined Citizens from Atletico Venezuela in 2017 and was later sent on loan to New York City. After a one-season at Huesca, Herrera is now with La Liga side Granada.

City Football Group owns or has a share not only in Manchester City and New York City but also in Melbourne City, Montevideo City Torque, Yokohama F.Marinos, Girona, Sichuan Jiuniu and Mumbai City.

With such a big partnership and scouting network, it seems City have done an enormous job in the previous years.

Guardiola and his players were in second place prior to the suspension of football in Premier League, with a distant 25 points behind leaders Liverpool.
