Keisuke Honda debut for Botagogo and set a new record

Keisuke Honda is a real nomad and the football player who was present elsewhere around the globe in his career - starting from domestic club Nagoya Grampus, Venlo, CSKA Moscow, three seasons in Milan, one short episode in Mexican Pachuca, Australian adventure in Melbourne Victory and when he arrived in Vitesse, many thought he will end his playing career in the Netherlands. Mainly because of his duty as the manager of the Cambodian national team. Yes, the Japanese player is a simultaneously professional player and national team manager.

His adventuristic spirit led him to the newest club, this time on the new continent, in South America. Brazilian Botafogo welcomed experienced midfielder with open hands and he delivered already in the first game, against Bangu in Carioca championship. Honda scored from a penalty kick and was one of the best players on the field before he left the pitch in the second half, but it wasn't enough for his team to win the game (1:1).

It was his 100th goal in career, yet what's more interesting, Honda entered to the hall of fame as the player who scored on each continent: Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, Oceania and now South America.

However, it looks that the legendary free-kick master will not experience the real taste of Brazilian Serie A for a long, due to the current world situation caused by a coronavirus. Brazilian Football Asociation officially declared postponement of the scheduled games in the upcoming period.
