Shakhtar Donetsk and Roma will play return match of the eighth finals of the European League at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, starting at 18.55 CET. Club from Rome came in Ukraine with 3:0 advantage from the first match, although that result is a bit misleading. Roma wasn't so much better, but they knew how to scored from their chances, while Shakhtar's players missed everything in the first game.

It is difficult to make up for such a gap in the knockout phase of this competition, but Shakhtar players promise to give their best and try to work a miracle. Shakhtar's players say now they know Roma better and will fight until the end of the second match.

One of the additional motives is that the guests are led by coach Paulo Fonseca, who was coach of Shakhtar from May 2016 to June 2019, winning the Ukrainian domestic double in each of his three seasons with the club.

In Ukraine, expectations aren't high. Shakhtar lost 13 of their 15 previous ties where they have suffered a first-leg defeat in an away match in the UEFA competition, including three times by a 3-0 scoreline.

Shakhtar's major worry will be the absence of midfielder Stepanenko, who plays a key role in ensuring the balance between defense and attack. Also, home team coach Castro have a problem on the left side of defense. Korniyenko is ruled out through illness and Ismaily is doubtful. The Brazilian was named in Shakhtar's starting 11 for last Sunday's league match against Desna, but was injured during the warm-up and replaced by Bondar prior to kick-off.

But in attack Castro has all his players available and announced an 4-3-3 offensive formation with Moraes, Solomon and Tete ahead, and maybe one of the veterans Taison and Marlos to start as well.

Roma achieved a great result in first match, maybe better than her play and expectations, but in the Italian Serie A in the last round they lost against Parma 0:2, with a very bad play. Coach Fonseca didn't bring the entire team to Ukraine, very important midfielder Veretout and winger Mkhitaryan remained at home, while Fonseca also announced rotations in the starting line-up.

Carles Perez, a talent that has yet to blossom, 23-year-old Spain international is expected to join Pedro in support of Mayoral in Roma's attack, while Edin Džeko will wait for an opportunity from the bench.

- I still support Shakhtar in every competition they play in except this time. I know this team's qualities and I know they will fight until the end - said Roma coach Fonseca, who announced a tactical formation of 3-4-2-1.

As bookmakers suggest, this match should bring a lot of goals. The hosts have nothing to wait for and calculate, they must attack from the first minute, while Roma will have many opportunities for counter-attacks. Three or four goals in total are a realistic scenario in Kiev.
