thanks and sorry again
Motherwell - Queen of South
Queen of South will play third match of cup after the loose at home against Queen's Park and the win in midweek with Annan ( 3-1).
Second away match in few days for them, also with a win hosts remain in the middle of market and rebuilding a completely reshuffled team - among the 13 most used starters last season, only three ones are in the team, yet.
So, this tournament is considered as preparation to championship as declared by trainer:
“We are still working on building up the squad so we will be relying on the same players again. It is a tough ask but it means they are continuing to build up their fitness ahead of the league campaign. We will be without Calvin (McGrory) ( midf.6+4 last season), his booking against Annan means he will miss this one through suspension but it’s a real opportunity for some of the younger players to play”.
Motherwell played ( and won) only one match of the group phase but remain the strong candidate to first place.
They have also grass field, while QoS plays on artificial turf, with a low number, yet, of players guests shouldn't risk hard injuries that could compromise start of season, too.
Motherwell should have not great roooster problems for this match, already in first round a couple of new arrives debuted and should have more space today.
After last season out cause hard injury, Donnelly ( 7g in 2019/20) already made some minutes in midweek and could have more space today, too.
