Giravanz Kitakyushu - Ryukyu

Asian Handicap
Pick: Giravanz +0.25
Odds: 2

Match date: 09/08/2021

Ryukyu have won by 3 goals to nil the reverse fixture, but I remember well that match and it wasn't so one-sided as the scoreline may suggest. In fact, Kitakyushu missed several good opportunities to score first and for sure the outcome would have been different. Ryukyu still favorite here, but in my opinion they should be just slight favorites. Giravanz's recent form is not great at all and this mid-season break it was a good one for me I suppose, especially with the signing of Kenta Fukumori on loan from J1 side Oita Trinita. He didn't play a lot in the first tier, but he was very good for Kitakyushu last season. So I guess is a good transfer since no time to adapt is needed. Kitakyushu also signed talented midfielder Naoki Tsubaki. Ryukyu is almost without half of the regulars who played a massive role for them in the first part of the season when they gained a lot of points. The full-backs Tanaka Keita and Keigo Numata were vital for them as well as the recently injured Uesato. The Okinawa side signed this summer experienced full-back Takashi Kanai, youngster Takeda (on loan from Urawa Reds) and the Brazilian attacker Vinicius Faria, but I think only Kanai may play an important role straight away due to his high experience. I think there are enough reasons to back the home side here.
