Match date: 16/04/2021

This match seems too much one sided for several reasons. First the difference in player’s quality is big. Forfar Athletic a League One (last place) team fighting against a Premiership team like Dundee, but this is not the reason to take this bet.

The biggest reason is the actual situation at home team of Forfar. Beside the quality gap, they also will suffer the fatigue going into this match. For Forfar this will be the 5th match in ten days!! and I am not sure how tired are these players. Even the biggest teams with great quality players will surely suffer from 5 matches in ten days!

Moreover Forfar will go into the game with a vastly depleted squad due to the long term injury situation at the club and also the fact that a handful of the players recruited since the turn of the year were cup-tied with their previous clubs. Grant Anderson, Michael Anderson, Callum Moore, Andy Munro and Martin Scott are the players who miss out for this reason, while Hamish Thomson serves a one-match cup tie ban following his red card in the third round defeat of Edinburgh City. So for this match Forfar will have 13-14 senior players ready.

On the other hand Dundee played their last match on 10th of April so almost a week to rest and prepare this game. They finished regular season in 8th place just one point shy of playing in the Championship Group. It is expected that Dundee will field a strong side in this match in order to avoid a potential upset and book their place in quarter-final stage.

So having in mind the hectic schedule of Forfar, their current team situation and the quality gap between these two teams, I think that Dundee will dominate from start and win this match and hopefully will cover the handicap too.
