Match date: 10/01/2021
Fourth-division Crawley Town and first-division Leeds United meet in the 3rd round of the English FA Cup, which is traditionally played on the first weekend of the new year.

These are matches that are especially waiting for clubs from lower ranks of English football, for them they are often the most important event of whole year, and so it will be for Crawley. It's just a pity that home team must play without fans, because the stadium would surely be full to the last seat.

The host is sixth in the 4th league and is in a great mood waiting this match. They are unbeaten in nine games (since FA Cup win against AFC Wimbledon) and in a lot of those games they have gone behind or been pegged back. It's been the attacking side of their play and not giving up. Manager John Yems has instilled a ‘never-say-die spirit’ and it’s really reaping rewards.

Only top scorer Max Watters has been questioned for this game, but he said that simply must play against Leeds. He has been on fire since John Yems picked him up from Maidstone. Thirteen goals in 15 league games speaks for itself and is the reason why there is so much interest in him. He has missed the last couple of games through injury but will play today.

Part of his big success has been down to the partnerships with Tom Nichols and Ashley Nadesan up front. They work extremely well together. Captain George Francomb also has proven this season what a danger he is in front of goal, with a couple of goals early on in the season and the winner against Bolton last Saturday. Glenn Morris has been widely considered as the best goalkeeper in League 2 as well for the last few seasons.

Leeds managed to return to the Premiership after 16 years last year and has left a very good impression in it so far. Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa is forcing an extremely offensive style of play, and some have begun to compare Leeds play with ice hockey, alluding to how quickly their attacks go one after the other.

In the last four years, club from Yorkshire has experienced disappointments in the FA Cup, each time being knocked out in the 3rd round, but now Bielsa and his players are announcing that this must not happen and will arrive in Crawley in a very strong line-up. Not all first-teamers will play from the first minute, but as striker Roberts is injured, Leeds attack should be led by top scorer Patrick Bamford (10 goals in the Premiership) and he should be accompanied by Helder Costa and the young and talented Poveda.
Also, Bielsa has confirmed that captain Liam Cooper and Spanish central back Diego Llorente have both returned to fitness, following recent injury problems. Two defenders are available to be selected for the match, but it waits to be seen whether they will be involved.

Leeds is coming here for win and pass to next round, it will be waves of attacks from the guests from the first minute, but home team doesn't want to remain indebted either. Here goals must come, three, four, five..."
