Carrick Rangers and Crusaders play tonight from 8.45 pm CET match of 29th round of the 1st division of Northern Ireland. These clubs are neighbor rivals from Belfast (Carrickfergus is suburb of capital town), and the host is in 11th place with 17 points, while Crusaders are seventh with 45 points.

Carrick Rangers, as well as some other clubs, are lucky that no one club is dropping out of the league this season, because their football is mostly desperate to watch. Poor defense and poor quality of offensive actions, too little race and aggression. Carrick has only one win in last 14 rounds against an equally bad Portdown, so there is nothing nice to say about the team led by coach Niall Currie.

Interestingly, their two best scorers are defenders Loughran and Kelly, who come forward at corners and set-pieces and scored a total of 13 goals and no one striker scored more than two.

Also, Carrick's players are already tired of the strong rhythm of league matches, they played three days ago against Larne and lost 0:3, and it could have been 0:6, so coach Currie announced some changes in his line-up today, but he isn't on the bench quality players, so that it could improve significantly.

Crusaders have recorded two wins in the last two rounds with a very good play, and last one against Ballymena was especially important. It's his direct competitor for sixth place, the last who bring a play-off for the champion and European positions (five added matches).

In the remaining four matches for Crusaders is crucial to reach that sixth place, and in the next round his rival is Cliftonville, who now have one point more. Therefore, it's crucial for coach Stephen Baxter's team to beat Carrick today and the guests will perform on the pitch the strongest team they can.

Midfielder Chris Hegarty and striker Ben Kennedy should compete again after recovering from injury, and experienced and very important midfielder Paul Heatley (7 goals in this Championship) is returning for selection after missing through suspension.

Last years Crusaders was very successful at Carrick Stadium, winning 3:1, 5:1, 3:1, 3:0 and 5:1, and it's very interesting to say that in last 24 matches of these two clubs, in each one at least three goals were scored in total.

Bad, tired and unmotivated Carrick Rangers against a better quality and much more motivated Crusaders. Victory of guests shouldn't be in question tonight, and we believe that it will be with at least two goals difference.
