Huge match tonight at Liberty Stadium where playoff contenders Bournemouth and Cardiff face off. In this clash I also think that Bournemouth should be favorite to win this game, but not by such odds. That is the reason why I find value backing Cardiff not to lose this match.

The reason to back Cardiff not to lose this match is their current form. After sacking Neil Harris after he suffered five loses in row, Cardiff appointed an experienced manager in Mick McCarthy. Cardiff's form since McCarthy's appointment has put them within three points of Bournemouth, who occupy the final Championship play-off place.

The Bluebirds are seven games unbeaten under McCarthy and they are currently on a run of five successive league victories. It should be noted though that all those wins came against teams that were under Cardiff in the table and this will be the first time that Cardiff will face a side above them in the Championship.

Nevertheless going on a run of five successive victories is never an easy task in a league like this where every team can beat any team in a given day. So I believe that tonight bookies should have given more credit to Cardiff.

On the other hand, Bournemouth have slipped away from the top of the table since the turn of the year. A run of four straight defeats saw them fall three places, causing manager Tindall to be fired and Jonathan Woodgate was appointed on a temporary basis, but, after winning three games in all competitions since his arrival, the former Middlesbrough boss secured the job on a permanent basis.

Since Woodgate took charge of the club, Bournemouth have recorded two league victories, which both came at homeagainst Birmingham by 3-2, and, following a goalless draw with Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth saw off Rotherham United on February 17th, with Phillip Billing netting the only goal of the game. Woodgate suffered his first defeat as Bournemouth boss on the weekend, falling to a 2-1 loss against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

For this match Bournemouth will miss Cook, Stacey and Solanke, while Danjuma remains a doubt. On the other hand Cardiff remains without long-term injured players Tomlin, Vassell and Osei-Tutu.

To sum up I believe this will be a very tough match for both teams and I think for Bournemouth will very tough to defeat a flying Cardiff currently. I don’t see such advantages for Bournemouth to be given such odds on the win and although some day Cardiff will lose its first match under McCarthy, I don’t think it will be tonight. I am trusting Cardiff’s current form and performances on this one.
