In the African Confederations Cup final, Raja Casablanca from Morocco and JS Kabylie from Algeria play today at 9 pm CET. The final is played in one match on neutral ground in the capital of Benin Cotonou, and there can be 12,000 spectators in the stands.

Both clubs are fully deserved in the final which would be equivalent to a Europa League competition.

No defeats can be found in Raja Casablanca's 10 most recent games in CAF Confederations Cup, but Kabylie have an even better record, 11 matches unbeaten after losing at former title-holders Stade Malien of Mali in a tie settled by the away goals rule.

Raja were particularly impressive in the group stage that followed the play-offs, winning all six matches without conceding, but in the semi-finals they played both games against the Egyptian Pyramids 0: 0 and advanced to the finals with a better penalty shootout. In the Moroccan championship, Raja is in second place, but has 11 points less than Wydad and this final is chance for a trophy.

Democratic Republic of Congo-born forward Malango is the leading Raja scorer in the Confederation Cup with five goals and Soufiane Rahimi, voted the outstanding player when Morocco won the African Nations Championship last February in Cameroon, is another major threat having notched four goals. There are no injuries or suspension worries for the three-time African champions and coach Chabbi will stay with their standard 4-4-2 formation.

In the Algerian championship Kabylie is only in eighth place, but in the Confederations Cup he played impressively. It's as if the team led by French coach Denis Lavagne has decided to give everything to win this competition. In the semifinals, the Algerian club confirmed superiority against Coton Sport of Garoua. After having dominated them in Cameroon 2: 1, Kabyliewon at home 3: 0. All three goals were scored in the first half. Boulahia, author of a double (6th and 45th and third goal was scored by Souyad (37th) from the penalty spot.

Leading Kabylie scorer, captain Bensayah, has also netted five times. Defender Badreddine Souyad comes next with four goals, thanks in part to his penalty taking.

This Algerian club has already won this competition 3 times. They have also won the CAF Champions League twice and the Cup Winners' Cup.

For the finals, coach Lavagne has no problems, his team has postponed the last league game and is completely ready and rested coming to the finals in the capital of Benin. Lavagne will set up a slightly more defensive formation 4-5-1, and Zakaria Boulahia will be in the attack.

This is the final, a huge stake on both sides, both clubs have great defenses. Both managers are likely to set their teams in a compact system. Maybe Raja is a little better team, but this is definitely a 50-50 game and that is why it is most logical from the betting aspect that Kabyle will not lose in the regular 90 minutes, and option with less than three goals in total is also a very likely scenario.
